Hi, I’m Bernadette, the founder of Scottsdale Math Mastery. A Certified Mathematics Specialist (Grades K–12) with 20 years of experience, which includes roles as a Mathematics Interventionist, Mathematics Coach, Middle School Math Teacher, Algebra teacher, and Geometry teacher, I’ve helped hundreds of students transform confusion into confidence. Whether you need a fresh way to see fractions, a clearer path through proof writing, or a strategy to ace your next exam, I’m here to make math approachable—and even enjoyable—every step of the way.
My Story
Math wasn’t always easy for me—but once I learned how to break it down step-by-step, everything changed. That experience shaped how I teach today: with patience, empathy, and clear strategies that work for every learning style.
I’ve spent over 20 years in the classroom helping students not only pass math but truly understand it. I’ve worked with all kinds of learners—from those who just need a little boost to those who feel completely overwhelmed. What I’ve seen time and time again is that success in math isn’t about being a "math person"—it’s about building confidence, one concept at a time.
When I created Scottsdale Math Mastery, my goal was simple: to offer personalized support that schools often can’t provide. I wanted to create a space where students feel safe asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress. Because when students feel seen and supported, they thrive.
Outside of tutoring, I’m a lifelong learner who enjoys yoga, outdoor walks, and finding ways to bring more joy into learning. I believe every student has what it takes to succeed—and I’m here to help them believe it too.
